Himeji Castle is one of the most important destinations for Japanese tourism. Located in Himeji City in Hyogo Prefecture, Himeji is an ancient reconstructed castle architecture from a fortress. The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-gō and Gokayama are one of Japan’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites

The two villages Shirakawa-go and Gokayama located in the area bordering Gifu and Toyama province of Japan. The contribution to Japanese tourism by these two villages is not only in the village scenery and peaceful fields, but also the unique architecture of the house with two thatched roofs forming the shape of hands together to pray . HIROSHIMA PEACE MEMORIAL (GENBAKU DOME)

When people mention Japan, one cannot ignore the two atomic bombs that were dropped on the country during World War 2. Although the city of Hiroshima was heavily influenced by the atomic bomb, it has now become a popular tourist destination in Japan. One of the main attractions of this city is the Hiroshima peace memorial with the atomic bomb dome Genbaku Dome. This is the only building remaining in the area near the bomb’s detonation site.

THE ITSUKUSHIMA SHRINE

The Itsukushima shrine is one of Japan’s most popular tourist attractions. It is most famous for its dramatic gate, or torii on the outskirts of the shrine, the sacred peaks of Mount Misen, extensive forests, and its ocean view.

This view of the torii gate submerged in the seawater in front of Mount Misen on Miyajima Island is one of the 3 best in Japan.

NARA RUINS CLUSTER

Nara historical relic cluster is located in Nara prefecture, including 8 destinations: 5 Buddhist temples (including: Todai temple, Kofuku temple, Gango temple, Yakushi temple and Toshodai temple); 1 Shinto shrine is the Kasuga shrine; 1 palace is Heijo – Nara royal palace; and a primeval forest is the Kasugayama forest. The most prominent one is the Todaiji Temple, which currently holds the world’s largest bronze statue of Dai Nhat Tathagata or Buddha Bhikkhu Na, also known as Daibutsu Dai Buddha. In the temple grounds, the star deer can freely roamed alongside Japanese tourists.

THE SHRINES AND TEMPLES OF NIKKO

Nikko Monuments of Japanese tourism includes 103 buildings of architecture and nature located in Nikko, Tochigi prefecture. These sites belong to two Shinto shrines (Futarasan and Toshogu) and along with a Buddhist temple called Rinnoji. Among the buildings here are the three most prominent ones are the Shinkyo curved wooden bridge in Futarasan, the 5-storey Gojunoto tower in Toshogu, and the Sanbutsudo (also known as Sando) building at Rinnoji temple with Amitabha Buddha statues and Guan Yin is studded with pure gold leaf.

CONSTRUCTION OF BUDDHISM BUDDHISM HIRAIZUMI

Located in Iwate Prefecture, the Hiraizumi relic cluster of Japanese tourism includes 5 places: Chuson Temple, Motsu Temple, Kanjizaio Temple, Muryoko Temple and Mount Kinkeisan. The most prominent one is Chusonji Temple with Konjikido Royal Hall, the mummy of the North Fujiwara clan leader. This hall is made entirely of wood, decorated with pure gold leaves and mother-of-pearl.
